Student Arrival and Pickup

Traffic Pattern WMS

Hours of Operation

The building is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students may enter the building beginning at 8:05 a.m. Car riders from the GYSA program are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. Zoned students are dismissed at 3:15 p.m., unless they are staying for after‑school activities. There will be no early dismissals after 2:30 p.m.

Parking Spaces

Staff and parents may park anywhere in the front parking lot unless a space is specifically marked for another purpose. There are six parking spaces reserved for visitors.

Student Drop‑Off and Pick‑Up Areas

Parents may drop off students beginning at 8:00 a.m. Students should be dropped off in the parking lot area to the right of the flagpole, between the first and second rows of parking spaces. Signs are posted to direct parents to the designated drop‑off/pick‑up area.

Parents may begin picking up their child at 3:00 p.m. in the same area – between the first and second rows of parking spaces to the right of the flagpole.

Main Entrance for Parents and Visitors

Students, parents, and all visitors must enter the building through Entrance/Exit #1, which serves as the main point of entry.

Traffic Flow

Directional signs are posted to guide parents to the appropriate drop‑off and pick‑up areas. For detailed traffic patterns, refer to the Traffic Flow Map.

Bus Loop

The bus loop is marked with “Buses Only” signs. For its location and traffic pattern, refer to the Traffic Flow Map.

Drop‑Off Procedures

Parents may drop off their children at the flagpole circle or park in the parking lot and escort their child into the building after 8:30 a.m. Vehicles may not be left unattended in the flagpole circle at any time. Signs are posted to reinforce this requirement.

Student Pick‑Up Procedures

Parents should enter the parking lot using the entrance next to the tennis courts and proceed to the area between the first and second rows of parking spaces – not the front loop – to wait for their students. Students exit the building through the main entrance and meet their parents in this designated area.

The front loop is coned off beginning at 2:45 p.m. each school day to prevent vehicles from parking in the fire lane. During the school day, if a parent or visitor parks in the front loop at any time other than during morning drop‑off, they will be asked to move their vehicle immediately and park in a designated parking space.
